In order to support our parish of Saint George at West 54th Street, we hold fundraising events throughout the year. They help to support the daily functioning of the church—and they are fun!

Saturday, October 19, 2024: Greek-toberfest!

Inspired by Father Sophronios’ German background, we combined the Greek and German traditions together for a fun evening! We featured German beer, Greek wine, traditional pretzels, Greek food, a Greek live band, an accordion player, and an Oktoberfest-inspired game. It was a wonderful fundraiser for our community. All of the funds will go directly to supporting Saint George on West 54th Street. Check out some photos from the event below!

Saturday, March 9, 2024: Wine Night Fundraiser

On Saturday, March 9, we held our Wine Tasting Fundraiser in the second floor space at Saint George! Kevin Flannery, certified sommelier and owner of Vinyl Steakhouse, led an engaging and fascinating wine tasting and Demetrios Manos of Oak & Steel Fine Wine and Spirits supplied the wines from four different regions for the evening. Kevin paired the wine to music, plus we had a raffle with fabulous prizes.

It was a wonderful night of wine, music, conversation, and fun! Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, or contributed to this event – we’ll see you at the next one! Here are a few highlights:

October 2023: Fall Soirée Fundraiser

On Monday, October 23, we held our Fall Soirée Fundraiser at Ocean Prime Restaurant. It was a wonderful evening of cocktails and conversation, plus a premium raffle—with some lucky winners! We are grateful for the support of our community, family, friends, and colleagues. Check out a few highlights below:

January 2023: Comedy Night with Gus Constantellis

We had a night of laughs with Greek-American comedian Gus Constantellis on Saturday, January 28, 2023. We are grateful for Chef Maria Loi of Loi Estiatorio for the mezedes (appetizers) and Demetrios Manos of Oak & Steel Fine Wines & Spirits for the wine.

December 2022: Book signing with Patricia Schultz, author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die

Travel writer and author Patricia Schultz donated copies of her book, 1,000 Places to See Before You Die for this great event on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Patricia Schultz’s and her husband, Nicholas Stringas, are devoted members of St. George.
