Letter from Reverend Hieromonk Sophronios Vomend of St. George Tropeoforos Greek Orthodox Church

By the authority vested in the Bishops of the Holy, Orthodox, Catholic and Apostolic Church by the Holy Apostles of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I was ordained, by the laying of hands and the invocation of the Holy Life-giving Spirit, by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America during the Divine Liturgy on January 22, 2022 to the holy priesthood. 

Gratefully serving the Saint George community on 54th Street since March 1st, 2022. It has been nothing less than my joy and passion to serve with the parish council and all members of Saint George the body of Christ in Midtown, New York. 

Our vision continues to build up the body of Christ, and spread the truth of the Gospel, unite believers to the Kingdom of Heaven, while always remembering to open our hearts and church to all visitors as the Scriptures commands, “do not to [forget to] entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. (Hebrews 12:2)”
